The MIND Less FULL
Learning to manage stress can be beneficial to both physical and mental health, as well as help to improve sleep and overall wellbeing. In this interactive workshop staff will gain a better understanding of stress as well as exploring their own stress response. The workshop also includes an opportunity to learn practical ways to reduce stress and improve wellbeing through the exploration of simple but powerful mindfulness exercises. This session is suitable for all staff and anyone who has found themselves trying to remain calm amidst the chaos.
Menopause Awareness
Three-quarters of the teaching workforce in the UK is female, which means understanding menopause, a natural transition in a woman's life, is vitally important to the education sector. According to The Menopause Charity, 10% of women leave the workforce as a result of menopause (whilst countless others reduce their hours or avoid going for a promotion). In this awareness workshop, we offer a deeper understanding of menopause, including when it can affect women, how it can affect them and routes to managing symptoms both in and out of the workplace. Our aim is to normalise discussions around menopause, empowering women to take control of their health and making sure that the right support is in place that enables them to thrive in the workplace.
Menopause Mindfulness
Combining specific elements from The MIND Less FULL and Menopause Awareness, we've created Menopause Mindfulness. Because there's stress, and then there's menopausal stress! Menopause transition puts additional stress on the body due to naturally occurring hormonal shifts. Baseline stress hormones can be elevated throughout this time, which means that menopause symptoms can be exacerbated and tolerating additional stress can be challenging. The good news is, learning to manage your stress really can make a difference. Menopause Mindfulness shows you how by sharing specific tools to help women reframe their approach to menopause and, ultimately, equip them to better deal with the stress and symptoms that menopause can bring.
The Power of Rest
Rest isn't just something that should happen in the summer holidays. Nor should it be something you try to cram in to a hectic Sunday the night before the school week begins again. Dedicated downtime is vital to human health. In this workshop, we focus on rest and the essential role it plays in our overall wellbeing, spotlighting its ability to improve concentration, creativity and productivity. We'll learn about different types of rest, rest deficits and ways to achieve more of it (even on a work day!) We’ll also take a closer look at sleep (the ultimate form of rest) and ways to get a better night's sleep.
